Sara Lahdenperä (BBA, Marketing) joined NIT in 2019 starting with various administrative tasks. The career path, starting from the office and being involved with multiple different tasks, got Sara connected with sites and NIT as a whole company. Personal interest and education steered the path to marketing later on, now working as Marketing Manager.
Sara enjoys the shipbuilding industry as a very unique and challenging field. She is especially interested in the customers interfaces, focusing on customer experience through research. “Customer experience is happening all over the delivery chain, not only at the interfaces with the Shipyard or the Owner, but also at every interaction with our supplier network, and most importantly our personnel.” She thinks that good communication internally and externally is essential and a basis for any operations.
At work, versatile tasks from internal communications to international exhibitions, inspires her. With marketing, Sara can utilize her creativity and communications and analytics skills. “Every task at my job is different and sometimes surprises me. But I like challenges once in a while.”
Sara started working in administration, collaborating with multiple departments. Her interests and skills were quickly recognized, and she was able to steer the career path according to them. “NIT and my supervisor encouraged me forward, which I really appreciate. I might have felt a bit shy at first, but with the support to my personal growth, I was eager enough to reach for my passion in marketing.”
