NIT Naval Interior Team (NIT) is proud to announce the publication of its first Sustainability Report covering the last financial year of 2022 – 2023. Report is aligned with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and provides a comprehensive look into NIT’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability matters.
Sustainability has been in the core of NIT operations for years and now it is time to take a step towards transparency with the release of the report. The report demonstrates NIT’s dedication to advancing sustainability within the shipbuilding industry and to delivering more sustainable projects for its customers.
“I’m proud to see the commitment of our personnel to sustainability matters. After all, we are not doing this alone but as a team,” says Sebastian Lagerlöf, Managing Director.
As a turnkey contractor, NIT has the opportunity to connect industry experts, suppliers and subcontractors to drive forward common sustainability goals. “When taking responsibility together – with our customers, partners and network – we are fostering a more sustainable future for shipbuilding. “
Over the past year NIT has made notable efforts for especially environmental sustainability. Developing and piloting the Carbon Footprint Calculation tool was a leap forward to identifying the environmental footprint of ship interiors. Being awarded with the Sustainability Award at Cruise Ship Interiors Expo in November 2023 was the highlight of the year for all the development work done.
“We want to use NIT expertise to make more sustainable solutions and to help our customers lower the environmental impact, “ Lagerlöf adds. “This report reflects our commitment to keep researching and innovating for more sustainable shipbuilding.”
