Production On Site
NIT project production, steered by Project Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors, work on site with a full team of project personnel and a wide network of subcontractors and suppliers to build the great spaces on board.
The Production process begins with project planning, after which Project Manager and Site Manager initiate the kick-off meeting and production phase. Their responsibility is to ensure progress schedules are maintained and to allocate suitable resources for project execution. Production and installation teams collaborate with NIT logistics team to guarantee timely delivery of all components.
The entire process is guided by a commitment to high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction – as in our GreeNIT Quality Management system.
Mockup phase of the project is important for validating the architectural design, material selection, and technical functionality. Mockups are manufactured and presented to the customer, and after approval the production of full set of product starts.
Interior and background installation products are manufactured and preassembled as prefabricates in workshops. This enables faster and more efficient installation, but requires precise coordination and co-operation with supplier, production logistics and installation team. When prefabricates are ready, they get delivered to the site at the time and place of installation.
The installation work is carried out according to precise drawings, standards and instructions. Project team is responsible for the final quality inspection, that is conducted to ensure all work meets project specifications.
Leo Steel
Leo Steel is a NIT subsidiary, our own metal workshop, located in Turku near to our projects. Leo Steel manufactures top-quality metal products and interior prefabrications, specializing in highly finished metal constructions, such complex wall and ceiling modules, public furniture and decorative elements.
Leo Steel professionals have expertise in various materials and experience in customized and challenging projects. Products of stainless steel and aluminium are manufactured according to customer’s needs, with modern machinery. Logistics
NIT’s logistics teams and warehouses are located close to our sites in Finland and in Germany. Logistics make sure that needed materials are on site and on time for the production team.
NIT logistics is close to 1 Party Logistics, as we organize transports with own contracts, and handle warehousing and deliveries to installation with our facilities and equipment. Freight is handled from our centralized warehouses to logistics on the site, all the way to lifting the material on board of the vessel.
Our integrated logistics system enables logistics and project teams to follow every step and status of the delivery chain, from the purchase order to delivery on site. Deliveries are also optimized for the most sustainable and efficient freight ass possible.
